My Tudor Dolls House

I have started something a little different alongside my writing. I recently bought a Tudor dollhouse kit and have begun putting the first pieces together. It is early days, but I am enjoying the slow, careful work of shaping the frame and seeing the outline of a Tudor house appear. It feels like a small creative escape, and I thought I would share it here as it grows.

The kit is from a British company called Petite Properties, and mine is the Cobweb Cottage Kit in 1:24 scale. They are an excellent company whose kits are far more affordable than many others on the market, and the quality is consistently high.

I painted a cardboard egg box to create the brick texture, and I used wood glue to fix the fireplace together.

I have wanted to make a Tudor house for as long as I can remember, so finally starting this kit feels like a small dream realised. I am enjoying the process far more than I expected. There is something very calming about shaping each piece and watching the house slowly take form.

It is far from perfect, but it is great fun to make, and it has turned into a small safeguard against burnout. Writing can be intense work, and stepping away to build something with my hands has been a steadying counterbalance.
